Gua Musang is another good place to break your journey. It has a few budget hotels and two mid-range ones. You can  stayed at Fully Inn, which is excellent, and an easy walk from the station (see the map in Rough Guide). In addition to cheap cafes in the streets, there's a decent cafe on platform 1 of the station and a KFC in the main street.
